User activity and @ mentions
New ways of following your progress and interacting are coming! We have just added the possibility to see interactions from you and other users - e.g. uploads, image processing status, comments, mentions, blur requests, edits, etc.
Profile activity
Head over to your profile page and check out the Activity tab. Here you can see who has interacted with you recently or check the status of sequences or blur requests you have submitted. The activity is being updated in real time, as things happen. We believe you're going to enjoy it as much as we do!
In case you don't see much activity on your profile yet (we started tracking activities few days ago), we encourage you to go out, capture some images and fill up that space. You know the drill...
Global activity
If you would like to see what is currently happening on Mapillary, globally across all users, check out the global activity feed. It is a nice to way to browse and discover beautiful imagery from across the globe. Enjoy!
@ mentions
While we are on the topic of activity and interacting, we've introduced @ mentions, which allow to mention people you would like to have included in conversations. It is an easy way to ping and notify. To make the task of 'not-remembering-the-usernames' easier, we've added auto-completion.
It has been a lot of fun designing and building this real time component of what is currently happening in the Mapillary world. We will follow up with a more detailed and technical post on how we built these features in the coming days.
Oh, one last thing, feel free to ping us in comments on mapillary.com:
- @gyllen - Johan
- @jesolem - Jan Erik
- @knikel - Kamil
- @yubin - Yubin
- @paulinus - Pau
- @peterneubauer - Peter
Let us know what you think, either on Twitter or any other medium; and if you find issues, please report them on Github!
Happy interacting,
Kamil & The Mapillary Team
