Mapillary Ambassador Program
We are thrilled to announce a new way to engage with the Mapillary community to create a photo representation of the world.
Since June we have been trialing an Ambassador Program with four awesome members (le grand blond, neogeografen, rps333 and tiagofassoni) to give our power members the support they need to run and participate in exciting events. These four ambassadors have been fantastic both hosting and joining a range of events, delivering presentations and distributing swag like mounts and t-shirts to help new members get started. They’ve also been providing insight on new Mapillary features and of course taking a lot of photos in the meantime.
We would now like to extend the opportunity to be part part of the Ambassador Program to the entire Mapillary community. Your role as an ambassador is to help connect members and build a sense of community in your area. Whether you live in Asunción or Zurich, we're looking for motivated individuals from a variety of backgrounds to get people excited about Mapillary. It’s completely up to you how you go about doing this. Some prefer to get out there and hold mapathons and informational workshops. Others are tapped into multiple online communities and have a python script toolbox for every scenario. Whatever your method, if you’re keen to engage and help others to create a photo representation of the world, we'd be thrilled to welcome you on board.
At this stage you may be asking, “What are the benefits of participating in the ambassador program?” Like many things, you get out what you put in, but some key perks of being part of the program include:
“A peek inside the tent” - You will get to find out about new Mapillary features and have your input on how we can make them better.
Swag - Not only will you get all the useful stuff for both yourself and your community, you will also get limited edition Mapillary swag as recognition for your contributions.
Exposure - The ambassador program is perfect way to gain exposure, particularly if you are in a related professional field.
Social - One of the best things about the Mapillary community is the people you get to meet from a diverse range of backgrounds. OSM enthusiasts, humanitarian workers, outdoor adventurers and sports lovers are just some of the interesting individuals that you get to meet as an ambassador.
If all of this sounds like something you’d be keen to participate in, fill in our application form before December 18th at 23:59 GMT. Alongside 9 other ambassadors, you will be helping to create a map with photos of every place on Earth. If you have any questions on the program and what it involves, send us an email.
