Update to version 6.10 on the App Store and let us know what you think!
If you’ve ever reviewed your sequences only to realize half the frame is taken up by your car’s hood, this update is for you. By popular demand, we’ve introduced Pinch-to-Zoom directly in the camera view. Now, you can frame exactly what matters before you start capturing. This simple adjustment significantly increases the clarity of road markings and signage while eliminating unnecessary obstructions. It’s a feature our community has long requested, and we’re thrilled to deliver a tool that helps you capture quality data with every mile.
We know how much effort goes into a great capture session, and we want to help you put your best foot forward. With our new post-capture review tools, you can now zoom in and explore your photos before they ever leave your device. It’s a simple way to verify clarity and ensure your imagery meets the standards needed for Mapillary’s computer vision to accurately extract map features. Take a quick look, feel confident in your contribution, and help us build a higher-quality map for everyone.
With this update, maps now support two-finger rotation. Whether you’re exploring the map, planning a capture route, or just reviewing where you’ve captured, you can spin the map to customize your orientation. Need to reset? Just tap the compass icon and you’ll snap right back to north. Simple as that.
Safety is at the heart of our latest update. Mapillary now integrates with iOS Shortcuts and Siri, allowing for total hands-free control while you drive. By eliminating the need to unlock your phone or tap the screen, we’re making it easier and safer than ever to capture the world around you. Just ask Siri, and let Mapillary do the rest.
To start, just say:
"Start capture in Mapillary."
You finish the route. Just say:
"Stop Mapillary capture."
You get home, park up, and connect to Wi-Fi. Just say:
"Upload captures to Mapillary."
That’s the whole workflow. Voice-controlled, hands-free, eyes on the road. We built in multiple phrase variations for each command so Siri actually understands you on the first try, because we know how that goes.
