We're back with another exciting CompleteTheMap 2026 across Europe, a collaborative effort between HERE Maps and Mapillary aimed at increasing and enhancing street-level imagery. This time, we're expanding the number of cities to inspire more of our joint communities to improve street imagery in their local area.

The challenge runs for seven weeks, giving you plenty of time to plan routes, capture imagery, and upload before the deadline. Mark these dates:

• Results announcement: October 2026

Sign-up deadline: 31st August 2026. Applications submitted after this date will not be eligible for prizes. You are still welcome to capture imagery in the selected cities after this date, but only participants who sign up by 31st August will be considered for awards.

Conditions

• You will need to have a Mapillary account to join the CompleteTheMap challenge and sign up using our form with your Mapillary username.
• You must sign up by 31st August 2026 to be eligible for prizes. Participants who sign up after this date may still capture imagery in the selected cities, but will not be considered for awards.
• To be eligible for a prize, you must reach a minimum of 150 unique kilometers (UKM). We reserve the right to select another entrant if this UKM has been unfairly manipulated.
• We will calculate UKM per user only for imagery captured during the challenge period between 10th August 2026 and 30th September 2026. All captured imagery needs to be uploaded latest on 1st October 2026. Calculation may take a few days and final UKMs will be shared October 2026.
• The collection should be performed only in the cities that have been selected for the campaign. Some countries have strict customs regulations around the import of electronic equipment and swag. If you win one of the prizes and reside in one of these countries, we will work with you to find suitable shipping arrangements.
• You must agree to receive communication via email from Mapillary/HERE stakeholders in order to send gift cards to eligible participants and provide service information during the campaign. You can do this on the form.
